Broad Ripple Lodge was the guest lodge and Lodge Vitruvian was the host lodge as we held our annual joint Lodge of Instruction last night.
All of Broad Ripple's officers were present and gave a fine rendition of the second section of the Master Mason degree. Several of our newer brethren did absolutely fabulous jobs in critical parts of the degree, for which they are to be congratulated. We encourage all of our new members to learn a part, and if you want a part to learn, please ask the Worshipful Master or the Senior Deacon to suggest something specific.
Broad Ripple received 112 points in the overall scoring, which includes areas of Masonic education, leadership development, relief, activities, attendance, image, records, membership development, communications, and ritual. This is the highest score attained by Broad Ripple in quite some time (the highest in this writer's Masonic memory) and is something of which we may be justifiably, if pardonably, proud.
Erin Haworth once again catered us a fabulous meal of chicken pot pie and her famous brownies. We thank both her and Brother Mark for this great culinary opportunity.
Following the meeting, a group of about twenty Vitruvians and Rippellians retired to Sahm's Place for the Fourth Lecture. Glasses were raised in toasts, and a good time was had by all.
