Brother Robert Dawson Passes Away

It is my sad duty to report the passing of our Brother Bob Dawson to
the Grand Lodge Above this past Friday, July 15, 2005.

Broad Ripple Lodge No. 643 will perform the Masonic Memorial Service
for Bro. Dawson at 7:00 PM on Thursday, July 21, 2005, at the Flanner
and Buchannan Broad Ripple Funeral Center. (Calling is from 4PM to
8PM that day.) The Lodge will assemble at the funeral home between
6:30 and 6:45 PM.

(For those brethren who had requested Indians tickets from the
Worshipful Master, he has been advised and has cancelled his plans to
purchase tickets for Thursday night. Hopefully this event can be
rescheduled in the not-too-distant future.)

Bro. Dawson was born on August 16, 2005, and was proposed to Broad
Ripple Lodge by Bros. Earl W. Mikels and Donald R. Curtis. He was
elected to receive the Degrees of Masonry in Broad Ripple Lodge on
April 2, 1943. He was initiated on April 13, 1943; passed on April
23, 1943; and raised to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason on April
30, 1943. He received the Grand Lodge Award of Gold on June 18, 1993.

He was a member of the Dawson family who were among the first
settlers of Broad Ripple.

His other Masonic affilations include the Indianapolis Valley of the
Scottish Rite as well as the Murat Shrine, in which he was involved
in the Murat 500 Club, the Jesters, the Flying Fezzes, and the
Kentucky Colonels.

Bro. Dawson served in the Army Air Corps in World War II.

He was a Sagamore of the Wabash and served in many civic, political
and police organizations.

INDIAN'S NIGHT Canceled

The Indians Baseball night on July 21st has been canceled due to the funeral service of Brother Robert Dawson. It will be rescheduled.
