We recently received our semi-annual disbursement of license plate funds from the Grand Lodge, and we would like to thank the following Brethren of Broad Ripple Lodge who purchased Indiana Freemason plates during the period 10/1/2003 through 12/31/2004:
Nathan C. Brindle, PM
Timothy J. Maguire, SD
David J. Mitchell
Richard L. Pipkin (2 plates!)
Mike Sentany
Will Saylor
John D. Fisher
Christopher L. Hodapp, PM (2 plates!)
Darren J. Klem, SW (2 plates!)
Jerry T. Cowley, PM, Marshal
Edgar W. Hessong, PM
Todd M. Ebbert, WM
Out of your $10 fee paid to Grand Lodge for each plate, Broad Ripple Lodge gets $6 back. Not a bad return on investment, and as is continually noted by Grand Lodge officers, that Freemason plate is a lot better looking than the regular state plate.
Thanks to all our brethren who participate in the program! If you'd like to participate this year, the form can be downloaded here: 2005 Masonic Plate Form (PDF format)
Broad Ripple Lodge is about to participate in a truly historic event. On Saturday, March 19th, we will be conferring the sublime degree of a Master Mason upon three candidates - one Brother from our own Lodge, and two worthy Prince Hall brethren. This will be the first time in Indiana history that a lodge from the Grand Lodge of Indiana has conferred Masonic degrees by courtesy for any Prince Hall lodge.
We will be joined by officers of both the Grand Lodge of Indiana and of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Indiana. Because of the anticipated crowd, we have been graciously offered the Ionic Lodge Room, as well as the assistance of Centre Lodge #23 in Indianapolis Freemasons Hall at the corner of North Illinois and North Streets. The Lodge Room is located on the 3rd floor of the downtown Temple building, at the south end of the floor. Also participating in the degree will be members of Sumner A. Furness Lodge #61 and Fidelity Lodge #55, PHA.
As of this moment, there will be at least 85 Prince Hall members in attendance. The Lodge Room will not accommodate much more than 150 people, so we are trying to keep the advance news of this event limited. Free parking will be available in the Scottish Rite Cathedral lot, and lunch will be served at approximately noon between sections. A donation of $5 is requested to help cover the cost of feeding this big group.
The Lodge will open at 10:00AM.
In an effort to feed the Masonic multitudes for this event, we need to know if you plan on attending. Please notify Brother Mark Haworth, JW and head of our incredible Knife and Fork Committee NO LATER than Friday, March 11th so he can plan for your lunch. Please E-mail him immediately at:
